Music in the Jade Palace Woven Throw Blanket

“Music in the Jade Palace” is a polychrome woodblock print; ink and color on paper dating to 1736–95. It comes from China, Qing dynasty (1644–1911), Qianlong reign (1736–95), a fine example of the region’s artistic tradition. Japanese woodblock artists distilled scenes into bold outline and luminous color, a style that went on to shape modern art and design. Rewoven as a throw blanket, its bold line and color comes alive in soft, tactile detail to bring a piece of museum history into your home.
